Only the ones the shop needs.

1The short version

This site uses only the cookies it needs to work as a shop. There is no advertising cookie, no tracking pixel and no third party profiling you across other websites.

That is why the notice at the bottom of the screen is a notice rather than a choice. There is nothing optional to switch off, because nothing optional is switched on.

2What a cookie is

A small text file a site stores in your browser so it can recognise the same visit from one page to the next. Without them a shop cannot remember what is in your cart when you move to the checkout.

This page also covers similar technologies such as local storage, which some parts of the site use to remember small preferences on your own device.

3The cookies this site sets

• woocommerce_cart_hash and woocommerce_items_in_cart, so the items you added are still there when you reach the checkout. They go when you close the browser.
• wp_woocommerce_session_*, which carries the checkout through from the payment step to the confirmation screen and the download links. It lasts two days.
• wordpress_logged_in_*, set only if you create an account, so you stay signed in between visits. It lasts fourteen days.
• dt-ck-seen, stored in your own browser so the cookie notice does not reappear on every page. It is never sent to us and stays until you clear your browser.

All of these are strictly necessary. Blocking them in your browser will break the cart, the checkout or the download links.

4What this site does not set

• No advertising or retargeting cookies.
• No social media tracking pixels.
• No cross site profiling, and nothing that follows you to other websites.
• Nothing that records which job title you looked at and passes it to anyone else.

If that ever changes, and analytics or advertising is added, this page will be updated first and you will be asked to agree before any such cookie is set.

5Third parties

The payment provider sets its own cookies on its own pages during the payment step, to process the transaction and to detect fraud. That happens on their systems under their policy, and we cannot read those cookies.

The site is hosted on a server that keeps short lived security logs, which is not a cookie but is worth naming. See the privacy policy for what those logs contain.

6Turning them off

Every browser lets you block or delete cookies, usually under privacy or site settings. You can also browse in a private window, which discards everything when you close it.

Because the only cookies here are the ones the shop needs, blocking them means the cart will empty between pages and the checkout will not complete. Browsing and reading will still work.
